Root Canals in Eastwood

Illustration of decaying toothWhen people hear the phrase ‘root canal,’ they immediately feel fear and think of pain. Times have changed, however, and we’re pleased to offer pain-free root canals. At Eastwood Dental Clinic, rest assured that you’ll be in great hands with our gentle, experienced team.

Why might I need a root canal?

The purpose of a root canal is to relieve pain that’s caused by an infection at the root of a tooth. This procedure can allow you to avoid an extraction. It can not only save your tooth but minimise further damage from the infection, which can affect your full-body health.

What does the process involve?

When you first visit our practice, we’ll complete a thorough evaluation of your dental health and determine if a root canal is the most suitable option for you. Low-radiation X-rays may be required to get a full picture of all the necessary details. With a simple injection, you’ll be comfortable and won’t feel any discomfort. The area will be cleaned, and the roots will be filled with a material to prevent any other bacteria from getting in.

Depending on your situation, we may require two visits to complete the root canal. It depends on the severity of the infection. The last step is to place a crown over the tooth to protect it from weakening or becoming unstable.
